Dementia: Understanding the Journey
Dementia: Understanding the Journey is based on the philosophy that persons with dementia have the same basic needs for security, shelter, nutrition, and affection as other adults, and have the same rights to have these basic needs met. This course was developed to enhance the competencies of current and future healthcare providers. It provides a standardized foundation education for those supporting.
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
WHMIS is a system used to provide specific health and safety information for the safe handling, use and storage of hazardous materials used in the workplace. It is meant for all employees who work with, are in proximity of, or perform work involving a controlled product.
Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)
The course reviews the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations as the minimum standards for all workplaces in Nova Scotia. The Act and regulation were put in place to help prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
Standard First Aid and CPR Level ‘C’
This two-day first aid course covers standard first aid skills and the skills necessary to respond to choking, respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies in infants, children, and adults.
Food Hygiene Course
This eight-hour course reviews safe handling of food, proper storing and preparing for food. It investigates best practices in maintaining a safe and secure environment in which to food is prepared.
