Ivy Meadows

has been a part of the Beaver Bank community for over 50 years. We have volunteers that contribute to our residents feeling a strong sense of community at home. Located just 15 minutes beyond Lower Sackville, Ivy Meadows is identified by four unique zones: Nightingale Hall, Secord’s Way, Mance’s Garden and Jacob’s Walk. All sections provide long term care for residents, with Jacob’s Walk specializing in memory care.

Residents all have access to our recreation programming which is often supported by the Friends of Ivy Meadows Society. The accessible bus allows for trips to the local Tim’s, special fishing derbies and other local attractions within the community. Feeling integrated into the greater community allows our residents to feel at home at Ivy Meadows.

On-Site Health & Medical Services

As a part of maintaining residents’ comfort and care, our integrated Care by Design program aims to assess and recognize the time when palliative care may be needed. The focus on this stage of life for our residents is to maintain dignity, and to ensure that their emotional, spiritual, physical, and cultural needs can be met.

Recreation

There are outings in the community as well as community members that regularly come to visit us. There are not just the traditional, well-loved activities like sing-alongs and Bingo; we also offer fitness classes and intergenerational visits with local children’s daycare and preschools! Residents enjoy pet therapy visits from St. John Ambulance volunteers. Along with the craft and painting programs, residents participate in trivia and various games, spontaneous activities such as trips to the outdoor patio which has become a favourite of hummingbirds, residents, and staff alike.
