Adult Day Program
Adult Day programs provide flexible individualized programming, socialization and companionship with supervision. We offer caregivers a day of respite with confidence and peace of mind.
The Adult Day Program is for a range of adults, including those who may have physical and/or memory challenges, those living with chronic illness and the frail or elderly. It also supports individuals coping with loss of independence, cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and physical and mental disabilities.
Our Adult Day program provides:
A personal care program designed to help build on and maintain current life skills, and social opportunities within a supportive environment.
Activities may include: armchair exercises, baking program, arts and crafts, music, gardening and games.
We are proud to have on staff Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Therapeutic Recreation Specialists, and Continuing Care Assistants experienced in caring for dependent adults.

Options and fees:
Full Day Program (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Includes both a mid-morning snack and a full lunch
Cost is $26.00/day
Morning Program (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Includes a mid-morning snack
Cost is $13.00/day
Afternoon Program (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
Includes a hearty lunch
Cost is $18.00/day
How do I access the program?
Adult Day Program is offered at Northwood’s Halifax and Bedford campuses, on Eileen Stubbs Ave. (Dartmouth), and at the Sackville Sports Stadium from Monday to Friday.
Referrals can be made by phone at (902) 454-9706.
We also accept referrals from community agencies, Community Services, physicians and family members.
We’ll ask you to complete an information package prior to enrollment.
