Relaxation of Restrictions

 

For Bedford:

As of Friday August 21, 2020 residents will be able to enjoy the community garden/Northwood outside property provided they remain on Northwood property.

Garden area will be open for residents during the hours of 10:00am to 11:30 and from 1:30pm to 3pm. After a review period the hours may be adjusted. Front door screeners will take the names of residents leaving the building for the purposes of contact tracing should someone who accessed the community garden become positive for COVID-19.

Masks must be worn when leaving home/facility. Once outside masks may be removed if physical distancing can be maintained with other residents.

No outdoor visits permitted with any family/community members and all such visits MUST be scheduled and monitored as per Public Health Directive from the Chief Medical Officer of Health. Please see recreation regarding scheduled visits.

Leaving facility premises or unscheduled visits with family/friends may result in a 14 day isolation period.

Access to the outside community garden is subject to change depending on evolvement of COVID-19 in the community.

For Halifax:

Starting on Friday August 21st, 2020 residents may independently sit outside in the front area (Center doors only) of the facility.

  • Residents are not permitted to be on the sidewalks or off the property.
  • This is only on the allotted time that has been given to the resident to leave the floors.
  • Front door screeners will take the names of residents leaving the building for the purposes of contact tracing should there be someone who accessed the front area may become positive for COVID-19.
  • Smoking is not permitted in the front of building at any point.
  • Masks must be worn when leaving facility. Once outside masks may be removed if physical distancing can be maintained with other residents.
  • No outdoor visits permitted with any family/community members and all such visits MUST be scheduled and monitored as per Public Health Directive from the Chief Medical Officer of Health.
  • Leaving facility premises or unscheduled visits with family/friends may result in 14 day isolation.
  • Access to outside area may be suspended at any time due to COVID 19 restrictions.
